I love the pictures above. They speak to me. I’m a visual person so when I see transformation happening in nature, I can’t help but see the correlation in my own life. Each day this week I’ve noticed the buds and leaves of these flowers growing ever so slightly. Each bud has a purpose. But for right now, each plant must concentrate and focus on growing.
Sometimes I find people focus so much on results and not enough on the process. There is purpose in growth. Growing each day gets us closer to what we were born to do. This hydrangea plant will be covered in blooms in no time. The purpose of the plant is to bloom so everyone who sees it can enjoy it, right? But until it goes through the process of transformation it’s sole purpose is to grow, starting with the buds. I’m enjoying watching the leaves unfolding from buds. Within a week they’ve grown so much!
I have a lot of growing to do right now, and these pictures are just the reminder I needed to help me see there is purpose in growth, despite the growing pains. What do you think?

Amen!
Very good comparison. In the never ending cycle of life, there’s always that need for growth.
I figure…like a plant….if I stop growing, well….I’m dead. And I don’t wanna be that way, so everyday I try to learn something new and stick it in my head for future reference down the road.
This is a wonderful reminder. Thank you.
Alice, the visual reminders are helpful to us all…your words are always an inspiration.
honey, YOU are amazing. Kind, thoughful, caring and smart. That’s why I count you in as one of my sistahs!
Thanks for this reminder about the process of growing towards my purpose. At 57, you’d think I would remember that and be a little easier on myself.
I, too, have been watching my hydrangeas sprout buds and leaf out. Glad you grabbed your camera. Today, I will, too.
blessings on your day!
